Travel with Children
Trekking with children can be a thoroughly enjoyable experience if the parents are already comfortable with travelling. In Nepal, traveling with children promises fascinating trip of a lifetime - numerous thrilling outdoor activities like cultural tours, village tours, jungle safaris, easy graded hill station treks and much more are there to make your family experience really a memorable one.

However, we advise parents to consult their physician & pediatrician before making any trip.

The factors that should be considered while trekking with the children includes altitude, cold as well as the difficulty and length of the trek. It is better not to go trek with an infant within three months, and preferably six months of age. Trekking with very young children should be kept shorter usually under seven days. Parents should be careful to allow extra days in the itinerary for acclimatization. Team staffs or porters are always ready to support them, carrying the child when needed which also develops a warm relationship with the children, holding the child hands along the way.

When traveling with young children, parents should be careful about what to permit the kids to eat and drink. One should be conscious about what their children are eating, as what you eat while traveling is very important for your health & wellbeing. Since the hepatitis, typhoid, & some other vaccines are not approved for children under age, the certain condition like Diarrhea resulting from contaminated food and water might get dangerous. The best local drink would be cow milk which is available in most parts of Nepal. Travelers who use commercially bottled milk make sure of reading the printed expiration date. Young children should be kept well-hydrated and protected from the sun at all times.

When travelling with children parents should make sure that they pack the medical kit with their belongings. Carry extra units of all items listed for their children.  Plenty of disposable diapers, cream for diaper rash, oral replacement salts, and appropriate antibiotics for common childhood infections, such as middle ear infections are essential.
