Radio services are the only media that reach to the general population in most of the remote and isolated area in the mountains..
Radio Nepal broadcast from 5 am until 11 pm and uses short – wave frequencies to reach the remote hill areas. Frequencies are 5005nKHz, 7165 kHz, and 792 kHz in Kathmandu and 684 kHz in Pokhara. It broadcasts the news in English at 8 pm, 1.05 pm in Kathmandu. In Nepal, now there are several commercial FM stations providing local programming and music in a mixture of Nepali, Hindi and English. Some of the most popular stations are as follows:
